Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned.

  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
  • Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Sets up equipment and welds parts, MIG & TIG, welding equipment, as required
  • Reads and interprets blueprints
  • Utilizes standard measuring devices such as tape measures, scales, squares, etc.
  • Verifies welded assemblies meet drawing requirements.
  • Removes excess weld splatter from welded components by use of hand chisel or hand grinder.
  • Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum six months related experience and/or training.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Able to operate hand and power tools (to include simple grinding tools), a fork lift and overhead crane.
  • Able and willing to work in a constantly changing environment.
  • In addition to drug screen, selected candidate must successfully pass Spirometry Test (Pulmonary Function Test).

Work Environment:

Normal hours are from 6:00am to 4:30pm Monday thru Thursday. Smoking is allowed in some designated areas. The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dba. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or ask for assistance with lifting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and weld flash (high intensity infrared and ultraviolet rays). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee may be required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, a respirator, and/or a dust mask depending upon the nature of the work performed.
